Welcome Events Team Members

The Role

Are you passionate about helping other students make friends and have the best time at University? This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Student’s Union staff to deliver a wide range of exciting events and activities for Welcome 2024 to new students. Welcome is where new students make friends, try new things and meet their people. We need a strong Welcome Events team to help us run our events to make sure Welcome 2024 is the best it can be. Do you have a creative and innovative approach to problem solving and experience of supporting and/or delivering events and activities? Do you have experience of working as part of a team effectively but are also able to take the lead when the situation requires it? Are you approachable, able to motivate and engage others and have strong communication skills? Then we need you!

To be considered you need to be available in person for the assessment centre and training on the following dates:

Assessment Centre - Wednesday 15th May either AM or PM 

Training - Wednesday 18th September all day

The role runs from 18th September – 6th October 2024 with up to 20 paid hours available but there may be further paid work opportunities through our commercial team across the year.

If you will be a student at UoN through to October 6th 2024 and wish to apply, please complete this form here where you will asked to provide some short statements on how you meet the person specification. If you are shortlisted from your application, you must be available to attend a 2-hour assessment centre on Wednesday 15th May in either the morning or afternoon. At the assessment centre you will meet other applicants and take part in a series of tasks where your suitability for the role will be assessed by the Students’ Union staff team.

Please note we will only be able to contact those candidates successful for assessment centres. Successful for assessment centre candidates will receive an e-mail by 17:00 on Friday 3rd May giving details of the assessment centre. If you have not received an email we thank you for your interest but please consider that you have not been successfully shortlisted on this occasion.

Hourly rate: £10.90 plus holiday pay calculated at 12.07%
