Terms of use

In registering on the University of Nottingham recruitment website you undertake to provide accurate and current information about yourself, including your correct name, address and any other requested information. You are required to update your details as necessary in any subsequent applications.

If you knowingly make any false statements or withhold any relevant information this may result in disciplinary action up to and including dismissal or the withdrawal of any offer of appointment.

The University cannot be held liable for delays to applications resulting from failures of the system outside of its direct control.

Data Protection (For the recruitment of Permanent/Fixed term vacancies) 

The personal data that the University of Nottingham collects about you will be used for the purposes of processing your application for a post at the University of Nottingham and for the completion of anonymous statistics.If your application is successful, it will be used to form the basis of your staff record.

The personal data collected about you will be processed in accordance with Data Protection Laws and our Privacy Notice for Job Applicants..

Applications for posts at the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China and the University of Nottingham, Malaysia

The University of Nottingham hosts Vacancy Manager on behalf of the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China and the University of Nottingham, Malaysia.If you wish to submit an application for a position at either of these locations, that application together with any supporting information that you provide and any information provided by third parties in support of your application will be received by the University of Nottingham and transferred to the University of Nottingham Ningbo, or University of Nottingham Malaysia, depending on the location of the post for which you apply, for the purposes of processing your application and engaging in the recruitment exercise. 

Data Transfers to Malaysia and China campuses are subject to data sharing agreements which contain the EU Model Clauses.

Data Protection (Casual hours’ vacancies) 

The personal data provided by you [and collected by the University of Nottingham] will be used by the University for the purposes of processing your registration for casual hours’ posts at the University.Those details, including your bank and tax details, will be retained by the University for the purposes of allocating any casual posts which arise from time to time and for which the University considers you to be eligible. They will therefore form part of your casual staff record held by the University.Relevant details (not including bank and tax details) will also be processed by the University for the purposes of compiling anonymous statistics. 

The personal data provided by you will be processed in accordance with Data Protection Laws and our Privacy Notice for Others Working at the University.

Fraud Prevention

If you are successful in securing a position with us that includes financial or monetary responsibilities, we will check your details with/against fraud prevention databases.

Should our investigations identify fraud or the commission of any other criminal offences by you [on your part] when applying for, or during the course of your [employment or duties] with us, we will record the details of this on the relevant fraud prevention databases. This information may be accessed from the UK and other countries and used by law enforcement agencies and by us and other organisations to prevent fraud.
