Project Manager (Fixed term)

Salary:  £32,348 to £43,414 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and organised person to provide project management for a Wellcome Leap funded project investigating venous return of maternal blood from the placenta and the effect of placental and uterine contractions as potential markers of stillbirth risk. Part of Wellcome Leap’s In Utero program, the multi-disciplinary project includes researchers in the following schools at the University of Nottingham; Physics and Astronomy, Mathematical Sciences, Computer Science, Life Sciences, Medicine and the Faculty of Engineering, as well as Nottingham Trent University and Nottingham University Hospitals.

The post is based in the Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre, School of Physics and Astronomy, meaning that the role holder will primarily work on the University Park campus.

As Project Manager you will:

  • Support the Principal Investigator with effective day to day running of the project
  • Manage budget allocations and produce regular financial expenditure reports
  • Support researchers with submission of ethics applications and collation of safety documentation
  • Organise regular project team meetings and stakeholder events
  • Promote the project and research outcomes to internal and external audiences

 You will bring:

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Project management and problem solving experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience of at least 2 of the following (budget allocation, event planning, proposal writing, project promotion, developing partnerships)

This post is available on a fixed term basis until 30 September 2025. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours); however, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week).
