Development of degree apprenticeship provision is of strategic importance to the University and we have ambitious plans for a comprehensive suite of programmes across all our Faculties. The Faculty of Science has brought together an interdisciplinary team to create degree apprenticeship programmes where there is a strategic fit. This role is based within the Faculty of Science Apprenticeship and Online Hub, with the role holder working in close partnership with the Schools of Computer Science and Mathematical Sciences.
The purpose of this role is to support the development and delivery of Higher Degree Apprenticeships within the ‘digital and data’ sector, these could include (but would not be limited to) Level 6 Data Scientist and Level 7 AI Data Specialist.
The role holder will be responsible for;
- contributing to the creation of online learning materials for delivery on apprenticeship programmes across the ‘digital and data’ sector, working closely with the academic staff responsible for the curriculum,
- supporting delivery of content and apprentice learning online, on-campus and in the workplace,
- partnering with internal and external stakeholders to maintain high quality and regulatory compliance.
- supporting colleagues and students in the use of learning technologies.
- contributing to the success of the University teaching and learning strategy
- support of the assessment process for both the degree and the end-point assessment including the supervision of work-based synoptic projects (with an understanding of the impact on the end-point assessment),
- acting as personal and/or academic tutor including tasks such as planning and delivering weekly academic and personal tutee meetings

There will be a need to travel within the UK as part of this role for the support and delivery of face-to-face teaching.
This is a 12 month fixed term post (Maternity Cover) which is available from 1 July 2023. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week); however, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week, subject to timetabling constraints). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part-time and the number of preferred hours. Job share arrangements may be considered for this post.
