We announce the availability of a postdoctoral position to investigate the transformation and evolution of galaxies in the distant Universe. The research will involve analysing data from deep extragalactic surveys, including observations from the James Webb Space Telescope. A key aim is to combine deep imaging data and spectroscopy to understand the quenching of star formation in high-redshift galaxies. The successful candidate will work with Prof Omar Almaini and members of the Nottingham Astronomy Group.

Applicants should submit a CV, publications list (if not included in the CV) and a (maximum) two-page document describing their research interests and relevant work to date.

As part of our commitment to improving equality, diversity and inclusion within the school, shortlisted candidates will be given the opportunity to talk to a member of staff representing women, BAME, LGBTQIA+ or disabilities communities. This will be separate to the assessment process and will play no role in the decision to appoint.

This role is available on a fixed term basis until 31/03/2024. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours). Job share arrangements may be considered.
