Transitional Assistant Professor in Computer Science

We are looking to recruit one or more Transitional Assistant Professors to the School of Computer Science to further enhance our successful and growing department.

We are seeking Computer Scientists across all areas of the discipline, complementing our existing strengths and adding new capabilities. We have emerging research strengths in assistive robotics, cyber-security, human-AI interaction, creative AI and interactive music technology, and particularly welcome applications from these areas.

As a Transitional Assistant Professor, you will be a promising early career researcher with potential to develop a national reputation in your chosen field and will have the opportunity to make an impact on the research and teaching of the discipline.

You will undertake research, individually and collaboratively, publishing high-quality research papers, taking the lead on planning and running projects to complement the existing research of the School. You will seek and secure funding through the development of research proposal and be active in research and knowledge exchange projects.

You will have the ability to deliver a high standard of teaching through a variety of methods to support the School’s teaching requirements, within your area of expertise.

Initially, you will focus on research with a reduced and managed teaching responsibility, being supported to develop in all aspects of the Assistant Professor role.

This is a permanent position. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours); however, applications are welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 18.25 hours per week).
