Salary:  £33,348 to £44,414 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Would you like a rewarding job where you can play a part in improving student experience? We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced PHP Developer to join the University of Nottingham's Learning Systems Team.

We are responsible for developing and maintaining the University's Virtual Learning Environment (Moodle) and other applications used to support our teaching and learning activities. This role is an excellent opportunity to help Learning Technologies with its goal of enabling the teaching staff to deliver world-class learning opportunities to our students.  We recognise that a team with varied backgrounds and experiences produces better solutions for use in teaching and learning on a global campus and a more supportive workplace. What you will do

You will work as part of a cross-functional team to upgrade and extend our software applications in line with the department and University's strategic goals, ensuring you consider accessibility, security, and user experience in your work. You will work with LAMP stack environments to deliver a high-quality experience.

You will work alongside the rest of the team and our Faculty and School Support colleagues to produce creative, robust solutions with a user-centred approach.

About you

You will have experience working in a team environment using modern development practices. A proven innovator who can bring your skills and experiences to delivering development projects across our systems portfolio and work constructively with various stakeholders to influence and shape the technological environment and deliver against ambitious institutional goals in a rapidly evolving learning technology landscape. 

The post is offered on a full time (36.25 hours per week) permanent contract. Job share arrangements may be considered.
