An exciting new opportunity has arisen with in the University owned Halls of Residence. Successful candidates will form part of a new customer focused team of Night Porters. The benefit of these new roles means that the Halls will be able to provide onsite 24 hour cover for both Students and Conference delegates

Your role as Hall/Night Porter

You will be the first point of contact for students and visitors to the Halls of residence providing assistance and excellent customer service at all times. You will maintain the security and safety of buildings including coordinating the evacuation of buildings in case of Fire, liaising with internal and external departments including Security Services. You will also work with our residential experience team to ensure student welfare advice and support is provided as required. Small scale maintenance tasks would form part of your duties, training will be provided.

Positions Available:

Post 1 - Nights - 36.25 Hours - 7 shifts per 14 days, working between 8pm - 8am (alternate weekends) - £23,718 to £24,996 (Inclusive of the 20% additional payment for hours worked between 10pm and 6am Monday to Sunday and hours worked on a Saturday and Sunday outside of these hours) REF:NHE1

Post 2 - Evenings - 36.25 Hours - 5 Shifts per week,  working Between 4pm - 12:00am (alternate weekends) - £21,820 to £22,990  (Inclusive of the 20% additional payment for hours worked between 10pm and 6am Monday to Sunday and hours worked on a Saturday and Sunday outside of these hours) REF:NHE2

Post 3 - Days - 36.25 Hours - 5 Shifts per week, working between 12pm - 8pm (alternate weekends) - £20,934 to £22,054 Inclusive of the 20% additional payment for hours worked between 10pm and 6am Monday to Sunday and hours worked on a Saturday and Sunday outside of these hours) REF:NHE3

Post 4 - Evenings - 20.5 Hours - 3 Shifts per week,  working Between 4pm - 12:00am (alternate weekends) - £12,608 to £13,279  (Inclusive of the 20% additional payment for hours worked between 10pm and 6am Monday to Sunday and hours worked on a Saturday and Sunday outside of these hours) REF:NHE4

Posts will initially be offered at the minimum salary point with progression to the higher salary point achieved through an annual incremental pay rise.
