Clinical Sub Dean - Nottinghamshire Hospitals Hub (Part time)

Location:  UK Other
Salary:  £88,364 to £119,133 per annum pro-rata depending on skills and experience.
Closing Date:  Monday 13 February 2023

Applications are invited for the above post based at the University of Nottingham and our Nottingham Hub placement sites at the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton, Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and Derbyshire based primary care practices.

The Clinical Sub Dean (CSD) will work with the existing CSD team to oversee the pastoral care and developmental progress of students in the Nottinghamshire hub by providing advice, overseeing special circumstances and monitoring progression in students who are experiencing difficulty.  Students who have problems or who request support will be seen individually by the CSD for review and development of an appropriate action plan and follow-up.

This exciting role is crucial to the delivery of our Support and Wellbeing strategy and our medical student experience during the final two full time clinical years of our BMBS programme and transition into the foundation programme.

You will work with the other CSDs at our other two hubs (Derbyshire and Lincolnshire) and the wider support and wellbeing team and share responsibilities to ensure that requirements specified in the University of Nottingham Quality Manual and GMC document “Outcomes for Graduates” are met.

This role is available on a permanent basis. Whilst this is a University academic appointment at 0.2 FTE (7.7 hours per week), it is a requirement that you maintain regular NHS clinical consultant practice in Speciality or General Practice, GMC registration, a licence to practice and entry on the relevant GMC Specialist or GP Register and be revalidated with the GMC.

As with all roles in the University, the School would welcome expressions of interest from individuals whose backgrounds and identity broadens and enhances the diversity of our team and community.

Informal enquiries may be addressed to Professor Pam Hagan, pamela.hagan@nottingham.ac.uk. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.

It is a condition of this post that satisfactory enhanced disclosure is obtained from the 'Disclosure and Barring Service'.
