The University of Nottingham is looking to appoint a Teaching Associate to undertake undergraduate teaching in the area of biochemistry and molecular biology as part of the Biochemistry degrees in the School of Life Sciences.
You will co-convene and teach the first-year module ‘Core Skills in Biochemistry’ in the Autumn and Spring semesters, and the second-year module ‘Structure and Function of Genes’ in the Autumn semester. In addition, you may also deliver lectures as deemed appropriate on other modules of the degree course portfolio. The role holder will also aid in marking assessments as required for years 1, 2, 3, & 4 undergraduates, as well As taking part in practical classes teaching/assessment. You may also be expected to contribute to open day activities, and offer holder activities, and to be part of activities to improve the biochemistry student experience.
You will have experience teaching at Higher Education level with the ability to communicate with clarity on complex and conceptual ideas to those with limited knowledge and understanding as well as to peers, using high level skills and a range of media along with a PhD in biochemistry or a closely related discipline.
This is a full time (36.25 hour), fixed term opportunity available until 31st August 2024. Job share arrangements may be considered.
