The School of Health Sciences (SHS) at the University of Nottingham, one of the four Schools in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS), provides a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the fields of nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, sport rehabilitation and for the allied health professions.

We provide a structure for people to thrive, feel supported, valued and that their health, safety and wellbeing is being managed (including mental wellbeing).

The aim and purpose of the School of Health Sciences “is to educate and nurture the best and brightest students who will go on to transform the lives of individuals and communities locally, nationally and internationally”.

The BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy programme is closely linked to the BSc (Hons) sport rehabilitation, and as such both cohorts learn and work together on modules throughout the 3 years of education. This provides a rich and interprofessional structure where students and staff interact and develop.

The School of Health Sciences is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor to support the teaching (theory and practice) and related activities in the undergraduate physiotherapy with a specific focus on cardiorespiratory conditions. This will include collaborating with other academic staff on a number of modules to support understanding of cardiorespiratory conditions and their treatment. Candidates are invited to apply who have evidence of teaching at undergraduate or post graduate level, a Master’s degree in a relevant subject is essential. The post holder will be interested in the development of the evidence base for cardiorespiratory management and have some experience of research, but will be supported to further develop their research profile.

This is a permanent, part time role (14.5 hours).

Informal enquiries may be addressed to the Professional Lead for Physiotherapy & Sport Rehabilitation, Emad Al-Yahya (emad.al-yahya@nottingham.ac.uk). Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted. Further information about the School of Health Sciences is available at http://www.nottingham.ac.uk
