The School of Health Sciences (SHS) at the University of Nottingham, one of the four Schools in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, provides a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the fields of nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, sport rehabilitation and for the allied health professions. 

The School’s mission is ‘to provide excellent healthcare education and undertake outstanding research that inspires our students and staff to transform the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities and make an enlightened and valued contribution to society’. 

The School is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor in Mental Health Nursing to contribute to teaching and research on undergraduate and (where appropriate) postgraduate nursing programmes. We are looking to appoint a candidate with a Teaching and Research focus. The candidate must have current Mental Health registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), experience in mental health nursing, research, and teaching and supporting nursing students in clinical placements. The candidate must hold a PhD or equivalent in relevant subject area.

The post will be based in Nottingham but you will be expected to travel to clinical placement areas as appropriate. 

This is a permanent post. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week); however, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part-time and the number of preferred hours. Job share arrangements may be considered.
