Salary:  £33,348 to £44,414 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Applications are invited for the above post based within the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science, at the Sutton Bonington Campus.  

The post holder will be part of a team responsible for providing expert Health and Safety advice to the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science. The role is predominantly based at the Sutton Bonington campus although there may be some requirements to visit external partner practices.  

The School of Veterinary Medicine and Science has a broad and complex range of health and safety risks and the School Health and Safety Team provides competent advice to all staff in order to manage those risks.  

Working within the team the post holder will be involved in the organisation, planning and undertaking of audits across the School, providing expert advice to our stakeholders and customers, contributing to the development of the School Health and Safety Management System, ensuring that active and reactive monitoring is undertaken, evaluated and closed out and will promote a positive health and safety culture. The role holder will also be responsible, as Suite Manager, for the safe and effective management of the Wolfson CL3 laboratory, working in accordance with University Policy and CL3 Suite Code of Practice.

We are looking for candidates with significant experience of working in a similar role and proven experience of working to containment level 2 and 3 standards. Candidates should have experience of audit and inspection along with excellent understanding of key Health and Safety legislation. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential to the role, as are organisational skills and the ability to motivate and influence others.

Due to the nature of the work, attendance on campus is required.

This is a permanent, full-time post (36.25 hours). Arrangements for job share may be considered.
