Business Administration and Insurance Apprentice (Fixed term)

Are you looking to take your first step on a career in Business Administration - The University is recruiting a Business Administration apprentice to support the Insurance Team. The team manages the insurance arrangements for all of the University and has unique insight into all of its operations. You will be exposed to queries from an exciting range of areas including the Farm, cutting edge research into green technologies, travel, exhibitions and a whole host of other activities undertaken by the University. You will also work with external organisations such as insurers and brokers as well as key internal teams such as the Health and Safety Team. This will allow you to learn to build respected professional partnerships.

As well as completing a level 3 apprenticeship in Business Administration you will be trained and supported by the existing members of the team. You will learn a range of business process as well as gaining more technical insurance knowledge. Specific duties will include:   

  • Responding to travel insurance queries 
  • Managing claims on the University’s travel and motor insurance polices
  • Assisting with collating information for the renewal of insurances

You will be keen, have a positive attitude, good communication and organisational skills, a flexible approach and be able to thrive in a fast-paced and varied environment.  As someone who learns quickly, is proactive and self-motivated, you will help drive forward change and deliver excellent service. In return we will support your development and put in place a personal training programme to help you progress in your career.

The Insurance Team forms part of the Finance Division, which comprises around 140 staff covering a range of Finance practices. This role is available on a fixed term basis for 2 years. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours per week). You will be required to work at a number of the University’s campuses and will have the opportunity to occasionally work from home.
