The Financial Management Team provide Finance Business Partnering services to The University of Nottingham Faculty and Professional Services areas. Our Faculty team are recruiting a permanent Finance Manager.
You will play a key role in helping to develop and strengthen the financial management and planning within Faculties who deliver the core Teaching and Research activities at the University. You will help to ensure the University funds are maximised for the benefit of the student body and to enable the delivery of progressive research.
You will be responsible for leading a team of Assistant Finance Managers and Senior Accounts Assistants and will report to the Deputy Head of Finance for Faculties.
This is a fantastic opportunity for which you will have the following skills and experience:
- Strong communication skills with experience of being able to influence a variety of stakeholders at all levels, from varying backgrounds.
- The ability to apply a strategic view and assess the level of detail required for different situations.
- Experience of overseeing budget preparation and management, with the ability to identify areas of longer-term risk or opportunity and guide the necessary resulting actions.
- Experience of applying and managing robust financial controls, to assist in ensuring the integrity of Financial Statements.
- Experience of leading and developing a team, with a track record of improving performance.
- Experience of supporting and guiding a team through change management.
- The ability to offer and accept feedback in a constructive manner and undertake your work with integrity.
You will be CCAB qualified or be able to demonstrate equivalent work experience.

This is a permanent, full-time post (36.25 hours). Arrangements for job share may be considered. We offer a hybrid working pattern with a mixture of campus and home working, agreed on a departmental basis.
