Finance Manager – Digital Futures

The University of Nottingham is undergoing a series of digital transformation projects to modernise our IT infrastructure and improve our staff and customer experience with significant investment over the near term.

We are looking to appoint a Finance Manager to provide finance support to project teams leading on these projects and to work within a small team of Finance Managers supporting Digital Projects and Operational IT functions.. You will report into the Head of Finance for Professional Services & Strategic Programmes and be a key Business Partner to various project managers. You will develop and produce insightful financial information to drive decision-making, build financial business cases, provide advice on the financial impact of digital projects and provide financial reporting and oversight to committees.

The successful candidate will be a pro-active finance professional with a passion for understanding the numbers and the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels. A determination to take action and follow through on recommendations will also be important.  Experience of business case preparation is desirable, along with experience of working on or supporting an IT/Digital project.

The post is a University Administrative, Professional and Managerial level 5 role but is slightly different to a normal Finance Manager position in that the role will focus on providing analysis and insight rather than managing a team, at least for the near future.   This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the implementation of some key Digital initiatives that will transform our staff and student experience and contribute to the delivery of our University strategy.

The University of Nottingham are committed to providing competitive employment packages whilst supporting the well-being of our staff to help them reach their full potential. We strive to provide a range of benefits and rewards, including leading fitness and health facilities, staff discounts and travel schemes, along with an excellent holiday allowance and a highly attractive pension scheme.

The post is offered on a full time (36.25 hours per week), permanent contract. Job share arrangements may be considered.

Informal enquiries may be addressed via email to Janet.Atkinson@nottingham.ac.uk. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
