Want to work in a fast paced, rapidly expanding new business unit at the University of Nottingham?
We are seeking a Senior Drives Maintenance Engineer to join us in Nottingham Drives Specialist Services (NDSS), a Driving the Electric Revolution Industrialisation Centre.
Housed in the purpose built Power Electronics, Machines and Controls Centre, we are a rapidly expanding business unit within the Faculty of Engineering offering use of the testing and development capabilities within the Power Electronics, Machines and Drives (PEMD) sector. The services we offer are unique and world leading, attracting industrial customers from across the globe spanning multiple industries.
What will you be doing?
Electrification is a critical technology for achieving the worldwide commitments to tackle climate change and the University of Nottingham hosts one of the leading centres in the world for this technology.
You will be responsible for the maintenance and calibration of our facility, specifically the bespoke test stands and equipment ensuring the timely delivery of our projects to customers to the highest of standards.
Working with a diverse team including Applications Engineers, Researchers, Academics, Technical Staff, Quality Associates and other professional services you will be responsible for all aspects of high specification equipment maintenance and calibration and ensuring we are in a position to deliver.
What qualities are we looking for?
Candidates should be able to demonstrate a good understanding of electrical and mechanical systems and the maintenance of, including motor test stand setup practices and associated processes. Previous experience working within an electrical/ mechanical environment is essential.
A base knowledge of motor-generator test stand operation is expected but training will be given and will form an essential part of this role as the equipment is of a highly unique nature.

This is a permanent, full-time post (36.25 hours). Arrangements for job share may be considered.
