Salary:  £56,048 to £68,871 per annum pro-rata depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

The Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering is welcoming applications from professional engineers with industrial experience who are interested in teaching design to process engineers, to provide a best in class learning experience and inspiring the next generation of engineers.   

Currently ranked in the top 10 in the UK for Chemical and Environmental Engineering, you will be joining a highly multidisciplinary environment where collaboration between Faculty staff, students and external colleagues is key to the successful delivery of our curriculum.

As the Department continues to enhance the industrial relevancy of our courses and employability of our graduates we seek to strengthen the industrial contribution to our programmes.  You will be required to develop and deliver industrially realistic curriculum material in conjunction with academic colleagues.   

You will be passionate about providing world-class teaching and learning for our students and will be keen to engage and support them using creative and innovative approaches. You will need to work proactively with colleagues, Directors of Education and Student Experience, and a wider educational team to design, develop and deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences and you will be a clear and confident communicator with the ability to engage and inspire students and colleagues across the Faculty.

Above all, this role is about collaboration. We are looking for someone who is self-starting but who also values and prioritises building and developing good working relationships at the heart of everything they do. Previous experience of teaching in any context, including the provision of CPD courses and industrial mentorship, will be strongly regarded but is not essential. You should be BEng or MEng qualified or equivalent and have significant experience as a practicing Engineer in relevant industries

This permanent post is offered on a part time basis up to 0.5 FTE (18 hours p.w.)
