The University of Nottingham seeks applications for a full-time Assistant Professor in the area of Manufacturing Systems. This role is offered as research & teaching where the person appointed would deliver internationally leading research, lead relevant research programs complementing and expanding existing capability as well as further develop and form new collaborations with key industries and leading international research centres.
Applications are particularly welcome from candidates with a proven research track record or relevant industrial experience in one of the following areas:
- Manufacturing systems design and modelling
- Digital Manufacturing
- Industrial control systems
- Manufacturing systems integration.
The role holder will also take responsibility for delivering high quality teaching and will contribute to the planning, design, development and delivery of materials on our growing undergraduate taught programmes in mechanical, manufacturing and aerospace engineering. Specifically, the successful candidate will be expected to lead teaching in one or more of the following areas:
- Digital Manufacturing
- Systems Analysis
- Electromechanical Systems
The role will include the development of course curricula and teaching materials as required.
The role holder will also be expected to make a significant contribution to their academic unit via leadership and/or administrative management and/or co-ordination of specific initiatives as required.
This is a permanent, full time post (36.25 hours per week). Job share arrangements may be considered.
