The University of Nottingham is recruiting a Business Engagement Manager to work within its Research & Innovation department. Working as part of the department’s Business Engagement team, you will oversee the university’s research and knowledge exchange business engagement programmes to promote the university’s services to business, develop prospective business partners and identify income generation opportunities.

 In this role, you will: 

  • Lead on the development and delivery of the University of Nottingham Business Network and its associated programme of events.
  • Manage the university’s Business Partners Programme – our invitation-only network of strategic business partners.
  • Lead on the relationship with local and regional business support organisations to understand the market need for business support and develop the university’s response accordingly.
  • Work with academics to encourage and develop their business engagement skills and to help them translate their research for a business audience.
  • Have strategic management responsibility for the business engagement team’s lead generation and marketing functions, including the development and implementation of its CRM system.

Along with your effective project management and organisational skills, you will be an excellent communicator with outstanding networking skills. Relationship development will be a core part of the role, both within and outside of the university, so you will be adept at building, maintaining and leveraging an extensive network of senior contacts.

You will hold an honours degree or equivalent qualifications/certification in a relevant subject, or have a proven track record of strong relevant work experience.

This position is offered on a permanent basis. Hours are full time (36.25 hours per week). Job share arrangements may be considered.

This post is based at our Jubilee campus, but currently working on a hybrid basis.
