Head Chef/Kitchen Manager
Based on our award winning University Park campus you will be responsible for the day to day operation of one of our busy kitchens within the student Halls of Residence. Main duties will include the preparation and service of a wide range of meals to a high standard and all aspects of staff management within the kitchen and dining room. You will also be responsible for Food Safety, Health and Safety and stock management within the unit.
Candidates should be qualified to City and Guilds level 706/1 - 706/2 or NVQ 1/2 in Food production or equivalent, have substantial relevant experience gained within a similar environment or within other large scale establishments such as Hotels or contract catering, have knowledge of HACCP food safety systems and have excellent cooking skills.
You will be IT literate with experience of using Microsoft Office products including excel and word, have the ability to communicate at all levels, be able to motivate and train a team of staff, and be able to use your skills to develop ideas for product and service improvement within tight financial controls. Substantial experience of stock management is also essential for this role.

Hours of work are 36.25 per week, worked 5 days out of 7 to be arranged including working evenings and weekends. Flexibility will be required. Job share arrangements may be considered.
