Senior Operations Officer (Centre for English Language Education Engagement)
Are you looking for a role which gives you the chance to make a real positive difference to the experience of international students?
To further the continued success of the Centre for English Language Education (CELE), we are recruiting a Senior Operations Officer (CELE engagement) in the School of Education to contribute to the delivery of our wide variety of academic training and support to international students.
You will:
- Lead on student engagement (both online and in person), working closely with other members of the team and with CELE academic colleagues, and driving continuous improvement in all aspects of the student experience
- Work closely with professional services across the University developing a wide range of specialist knowledge, which you can apply creatively and analytically to solve problems and support CELE students
- Ensure the effective operation of a range of student feedback mechanisms, providing support for the development and coordination of action plans in response to the feedback received
- Actively contribute to the Faculty’s professional services networks and communities of practice
You will need excellent interpersonal skills, including empathy, compassion and patience; as well as strong communication skills including the ability to adapt your style to accommodate people for whom English is not their first language.
You will have experience of working with students to deliver a first class experience and a track record of responding independently and dealing with unforeseen circumstances.
You will work well in a team, be highly organised and flexible and be able to thrive in a very fast-paced and at times, highly pressured environment.
Our success is delivered by our people. We believe that a diverse and supportive environment, bringing different perspectives to our work and allowing people to thrive, is the best platform for cutting-edge research and excellent teaching and operational support. We are seeking individuals from the widest possible range of talents and backgrounds, and we will appoint not just based on past achievements, but also on your potential for the future
This is a permanent role, with full-time hours (36.25 hours per week). Job share arrangements may be considered. We operate a hybrid working policy, allowing you to work in the office and from home according to business needs. Opportunities for annual leave may be limited between June and September when CELE’s activities are at their height. Flexibility around working hours would be an advantage to enable support of our online students living in different time zones.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to Lynn Brown, email lynn.brown@nottingham.ac.uk. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
