We seek to appoint three research fellows, one in each of the following areas: (we are interested in candidates whose expertise spans multiple areas):

As a Research Associate/Fellow, you will be a promising early career researcher with the potential to develop an international reputation.

You will undertake research in a multidisciplinary team, including: working with artists to create and study a portfolio of high profile robotic artworks; reflecting on these to generate new AI methods, concepts and tools to enable richer human experiences of AI; contributing to high-quality research papers; and participating in AI community and public engagement events.

You will be mentored to develop your multidisciplinary skills, international profile and ability to write your own research proposals.

There will be appropriate opportunities to gain experience in teaching, including supervising projects, and helping develop advanced training materials.

Our vision as a School is to be highly rated in all areas: Research and Knowledge Exchange, Education and Student Experience. We are committed to creating opportunities for people from groups traditionally underrepresented in the field of Computer Science and therefore the ability to relate to and mentor students and colleagues within an increasingly ethnically and gender diverse community is essential.

We aim to give you all the support you need to nurture your talent, develop, and reach your professional and personal career goals. You will have access to a range of benefits and rewards, including leading fitness and health facilities, staff discounts and travel schemes, along with a generous holiday allowance.

These are 3 year fixed term positions. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours) ; however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 18.25 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part time and the number of preferred hours. Job share arrangements may be considered.

Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.

Informal enquiries may be addressed to Professor Steve Benford (steve.benford@nottingham.ac.uk) Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
