We are looking for a friendly, engaging and enthusiastic individual to join the School of Psychology Operations team. The role holder will work together with colleagues to provide excellent administrative support and ensure day-to-day operational needs are met.

As an Administrator you will: 

  • Be front of house on the School’s reception; welcoming students and visitors to the building, dealing with day-to-day enquiries.
  • Receive and respond to internal and external queries; providing advice and resolving both simple and complex issues queries, managing room bookings. 
  • Make purchases for academic colleagues, obtaining quotes, dispensation forms. purchase card payments and keeping updated with University policies. 
  • Prepare, coordinate and minute committees, meetings, or other collective activity, following up on actions and managing documentation.
  • Update the SharePoint and Psychology website, support community events and projects.

 And you will bring:

  • Extensive level of IT skills, including MS Office suite (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams)
  • Ability to build working relationships within the School/department, University and external suppliers
  • Ability to work independently to resolve complex internal and external queries.
  • Provide and maintain a high level of customer service whilst working to deadlines.
  • Accuracy, reliability and the willingness and adaptability to learn new skills and procedures.
  • A positive attitude to building and maintaining professional relationships with colleagues.

The post is offered on a 6 month fixed term contract, hours of work are full time (36.25 hours per week). Job share arrangements may be considered. The role will be based on campus with some flexibility to work from home.
