We are looking for a friendly, engaging and enthusiastic individual to join the School of Psychology Operations team. The post will be split between supporting the Doctorate in Applied Educational Psychology team and the wider operations team. The role holder will work together with colleagues to provide excellent administrative support and ensure day-to-day operational needs are met.

As an Administrator you will:

  • Support all aspects of running the Educational Psychology course, including admissions, assessments and placements.
  • Receive and respond to internal and external queries; providing advice and resolving both simple and complex issues.
  • Be front of house on the School’s reception; welcoming students and visitors to the building, dealing with day-to-day enquiries, managing room bookings.
  • Make purchases for academic colleagues, obtaining quotes and keeping updated with University policies.
  • Prepare, coordinate and minute committees, meetings, or other collective activity, following up on actions and managing documentation.

And you will bring:

  • Extensive level of IT skills, including MS Office suite (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams)
  • Excellent oral and written communication and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to work independently to resolve complex internal and external queries.
  • Provide and maintain a high level of customer service whilst working to deadlines.
  • Accuracy, reliability and the willingness and adaptability to learn new skills and procedures.
  • A positive attitude to building and maintaining professional relationships with colleagues.

Previous experience providing outstanding customer service and excellent ability to use Excel/database management would be desirable but not essential.

The post is offered on a permanent, full time (36.25 hours per week) contract. The role will be predominantly based on Campus with some flexibility for home working. Job share arrangements may be considered.
