We are looking for a friendly, engaging, enthusiastic person to join the Biosciences hub (School of Biosciences) in the Faculty of Science Research and Knowledge Exchange (RKE) on a part time basis. You will work together with Hub colleagues and the wider Faculty RKE team, contributing to the planning, administration and management of the support elements of the research lifecycle. You will provide senior administrative support to academic and research staff applying for and managing research grants.

The post is based in the Biosciences hub, meaning the role holder will primarily work at the Sutton Bonington Campus. It will also be possible for the role holder to spend some time working from home if desired.

As a Senior Research Administrator you will:

Coordinate the administrative support provision for pre- and post-award activity related to bids and grants within your hub.

Collaborate with a wide group of stakeholders to ensure support levels are delivered and maintained.

Provide guidance to the relevant stakeholders, calculating budgets and data entry using the Research Management System.

Support the RKE team as required in all aspects of research output including organising events, committees, general support office outputs and administration.

And you will bring:

Excellent verbal and written communication and numeracy skills.

Attention to detail and the ability to multitask.

A drive and willingness to take the initiative in process improvements.

A positive attitude to building and maintaining professional relationships with colleagues.

Experience of working accurately with finance or numerical data and of planning your own work activities and delivering to deadlines are essential. Experience in research project budgets and finances would be beneficial but not essential.

We welcome applications from people who will enhance the diversity of our RKE team. The Faculty is committed to creating opportunities for people traditionally under-represented in Science.

The post is offered on a permanent,  part time (21.75 hours per week) contract.

Informal enquiries may be addressed to Rebecca Wallis - Rebecca.Wallis@nottingham.ac.uk or Katie May - Katherine.may@nottingham.ac.uk. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
