This is an exciting opportunity supported by Research England, Museums, Galleries and Collections funding. The role holder will be responsible for enhancing the documentation and organisation of the University of Nottingham Museum’s Samian pottery collection (the Felix Oswald Samian pottery collection) and archive with the aim of increasing awareness and discoverability. The role will work alongside the Museum Collections Development Manager and Samian pottery specialist.

We know that having colleagues from a wide range of backgrounds is key to a good, supportive workplace and even better services. We are particularly keen to receive applications from those who are currently underrepresented in Libraries in the UK, such as racially minoritised people.

You will have experience of documenting archaeological collections and using museum collections management systems (databases). Knowledge of Samian pottery is not essential but an interest in learning about Samian pottery is. You will have the ability to work efficiently and independently. Attention to detail and ability to work accurately is also required.  You will also be a good communicator.

The post is offered on a full time (36.25 hours per week), fixed term contract until 31 July 2025. You will be based at the University of Nottingham Museum on University Park Campus.

We want to see the best possible version of you in your application. To understand our recruitment process (including some handy tips and advice), please follow this link to our candidate guidance page.
