The Estates and Facilities Department provides strategic and operational services support to the University infrastructure, buildings, and landholdings. We are a large and diverse department employing approximately 1300 people and provide a wide range of services across our UK sites.

We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety/Compliance Manager to join our Estates and Facilities team. Reporting to the Head of Compliance Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving continuous improvement and best practice in the critical area of health and safety management. You will manage and monitor existing safe systems of work and identify areas for development, supporting teams across Estates and promoting a positive safety culture. You will monitor compliance with CDM15, BSA22 and relevant university policies across Estates & Facilities activities and will identify, develop, implement and monitor improvements to current contractor management arrangements, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.  

Candidates should be professionally qualified (e.g. HND) or have a relevant degree, plus have significant hands on experience in similar related roles or have extensive relevant experience in a similar role. It is also essential that candidates extensive knowledge and experience of CDM15 and its application in a large organisation.

This is a permanent post. Hours of work are full-time; 36.25 hours per week worked mainly Monday to Friday. Job share arrangements may be considered.
