We are looking for an experienced head of maintenance with excellent leadership skills to be responsible for the effective delivery of all planned and reactive maintenance across our university estate.  The successful candidate will develop effective maintenance delivery strategies in partnership with the Director of Estates Operations and the Associate Director of Asset Management and will provide leadership and line management to the Estates maintenance team and stores (60+ staff) including objective setting, performance reviews and succession planning. You will also support the procurement and management of an effective and efficient supply chain of maintenance contractors, materials suppliers and specialist consultants ensuring all KPI’s and SLAs are met.

Candidates should hold a HND qualification or equivalent in a maintenance or construction related subject and relevant professional health & Safety qualifications (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH). You should also have advanced technical knowledge of mechanical & electrical plant & systems and have proven experience of leading large operational teams delivering maintenance to complex estates.

This is a permanent post. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week). The expectation is that at least 4 days per week would be worked onsite.

Job share arrangements may also be considered.
