We are excited to be expanding our animal care team by recruiting two full-time Animal Technicians. The successful candidates will be passionate about animal welfare and research excellence and looking for an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious, forward-thinking and vibrant multi-species, multi-site team at a leading research University.  

The successful candidate must be able to take independent responsibility for the welfare of the animals in their care and contribute to the training of trainee and research staff as required. An essential requirement will be to ensure effective liaison with and support of Nottingham’s research community, including advising on welfare requirements and the 3Rs (replacement, reduction, and refinement). You must already hold the IAT Level 2 Diploma, or have equivalent experience. 

All candidates must have good communication and organisational skills and be able to demonstrate a vocational and responsible approach to working with animals.

The post is offered on a fixed term contract for 12 months. Hours of work are 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Weekend and Bank Holiday working is required on a rota basis. The posts will be offered with a six-month probation period.
