Applications are invited to the above role to provide technical support to research projects in Professor Rita Tewari’s laboratories within the School of Life Sciences. The applicant will work with the senior technician and research fellow to plan and oversee the day-to-day running of the laboratory, allocating resources, planning, providing technical supervision in Molecular and Cell Biology techniques to staff and students to ensure objectives are met.
The laboratory specialises in malaria cell biology research, and candidates must have skills in standard laboratory and microbiological techniques. Specifically the candidate must have existing skills on molecular cloning techniques. It would be advantageous if the applicants also have existing skills and knowledge of QPCR, protein purification, western blotting and microscopy.

Candidates must have a minimum of HNC in relevant subject, or equivalent vocational qualifications (NVQ,
City & Guild), plus considerable work experience in relevant role or substantial work experience in a relevant
role.

This position is offered on a fixed-term contract from 15th September 2025 until 14 September 2027. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours per week). Job share arrangements may be considered.
