The University is shortly launching UniCore - a new, integrated HR, Finance and Procurement system (Oracle Fusion). UniCore will empower managers and their teams through self-service processes and reporting, acting as a one stop shop. It has been designed for efficiency and consistency, with simple, secure access.

Following an initial period of ‘early life support’ once the system has gone live, there will be a period of 12 months where the University will need to embed the use of the system into everyday ways of working.

For this reason, the HR Department is seeking an HR Systems Subject Matter Expert who will support the maintenance and essential development of the UniCore system alongside developing the capability of colleagues in the HR team during this period, through knowledge transfer to manage the system on an on-going basis.

 What you will do:

  • Manage the Oracle quarterly upgrade process through change impact assessment and user acceptance testing.
  • Support the adoption of the UniCore system during First Time Use and HESA rule changes, ensuring the system is correctly configured; ensuring the readiness of HR service delivery and wider business readiness and that relevant documentation and training materials are available.
  • Manage the development of report specifications and the subsequent testing of reports developed post Go Live.

 You will have experience of:

  • Implementing Oracle Fusion HCM modules
  • User Acceptance Testing of HCM modules
  • Developing Process Maps, Standard Operating Procedures and Training Materials

You will be used to working with a high degree of initiative and with a pro-active approach to problem solving. You will have the ability to work under pressure to meeting demanding and sometimes conflicting requirements. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues.

What we can offer you:

  • 30 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays and University closure days
  • A friendly, inclusive and supportive environment
  • Hybrid working arrangements with a blended approach of office and home working each week.
  • Excellent health and sports facilities
  • Attractive campus environments
  • Pension scheme

This is a full-time, fixed term position until 31/01/2026; however, it may be agreed that the preferred candidate may work part-time (minimum of 29 hours per week).  Please state in your application the number of hours you are seeking if less than full-time.

Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.

Interviews will take place week commencing 4 November

If you would like to know more about this opportunity please contact Peter McCracken, Senior Programme Manager, HR Digital Improvement, e-mail: peter.mccracken@nottingham.ac.uk

Closing date: Friday 18th October
