Occupational Health Operational Lead (Internal Only)

About the role
We are seeking an experienced and analytical professional to join our team as an Occupational Health Operational Lead.
Reporting to the Occupational Health Manager, you will be responsible for the operational management and performance oversight of the University’s outsourced Occupational Health service. You will ensure the delivery of a high-quality, consistent and compliant service supporting both staff and students.
Working across a complex stakeholder environment, you will use data, insight and professional judgement to monitor performance, identify risks and drive continuous improvement. Acting as the primary operational contact, you will influence stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery aligned to contractual, governance and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operational delivery of Occupational Health services and act as the main point of contact for stakeholders.
- Monitor performance against KPIs and SLAs, addressing non-compliance and driving service improvements.
- Analyse service data to identify trends, risks and opportunities, translating insight into effective action.
- Provide oversight of processes, ensuring consistent, fair and compliant application across the University.
- Act as an escalation point for complex or sensitive issues, applying sound judgement to resolve them.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support service delivery.
- Support governance, risk management and compliance.
- Validate invoices and monitor costs to ensure financial accuracy and value for money.
- Contribute to service development and continuous improvement initiatives.
About you
You will have experience working in a complex, compliance-driven or people-focused environment, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver operational excellence.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Proven problem-solving ability.
- High attention to detail.
- Experience of working across multiple stakeholders.
- Knowledge of data protection, confidentiality and governance frameworks.
