The University has embarked on an exciting new programme of work to replace its existing digital services offering in the HR, Finance and Procurement areas. We are now just over 2 years into the Digital Core (new HR, Finance and Procurement system) project and we have a new opportunity for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Officer to join our Digital Core Procurement team to support our existing team of SMEs as we continue to prepare for go-live.


The SME Officer role will support our SMEs across a number of areas of the project including introduction of new stores functionality, the design of test scripts for regression testing, development of process maps and related materials, building close relationships with stores personnel and supporting the development of training materials amongst other activities. This is a really exciting time to join the project as we progress towards go-live.


So who are we looking for? We are looking for someone who has a detailed working knowledge of Procurement and Supply Chain Management processes ideally gained in the University or in a previous role where they may have been part of a Procurement or supply chain team. You will need to be comfortable working at pace; a strong problem solver who is able to bring others along with you and you will have excellent attention to detail. Your team working skills will also need to be stand out!


This role is available on a fixed term basis until 31/01/2025. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours) ; however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 30 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part time and the number of preferred hours. Job share arrangements may be considered.


Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.
