Nottingham is consistently ranked in the top tier for Knowledge Exchange (KE) in the UK, in returns such as Research Excellence Framework, Knowledge Exchange Framework and in levels of industry income.

The university is seeking a Director of Knowledge Exchange & Business Engagement to provide leadership in this area, and to ensure the delivery of its ambitions. The role holder should be an experienced knowledge exchange professional, with experience of leading teams to deliver at an exceptional standard. Consistently ranked in the top tier for KE in the UK, this is an outstanding opportunity to lead a large, established and enthusiastic professional services team at a university where business engagement, enterprise and innovation really matters.

This is a strategic leadership role, responsible for providing direction for the delivery of the University’s KE activity across the University. The role holder will ensure strategic connectivity across the different KE functions, including Business Engagement, IP Commercialisation, Impact Acceleration, the University of Nottingham Innovation Park and our other strategic innovation areas and teams.

Connecting and creating opportunities will also be an important function of this role, including supporting the Place Business Development team in developing a broad range of stakeholder and partner organisations in the wider Nottingham and Midlands region.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, dynamic, outcome focussed and visionary expert practitioner with a track record in delivering transformative results and leading teams to success. You will be comfortable in academic, corporate, charitable and government settings with significant experience in business development and knowledge exchange.  The role will enhance and build further our excellent local, national, and international relationships. Whilst prior experience of higher education is a distinct advantage, it is not essential.
