We are pleased to share details of a permanent opportunity for a Cyber Security Analyst to join our dedicated Cyber Security team based in Digital & Technology Services.

The Cyber Security Analyst will be responsible for monitoring all computer systems connected to the university network to identify known vulnerabilities, potential weaknesses, security breaches, unusual activity and unauthorised or illegal activity.

You will assume responsibility for supporting the university’s endpoint detection and response (EDR) platforms, security incident and event management (SIEM) and cloud protection platforms to identifying and remediate user account or system compromises. You will use vulnerability management tools detected security weaknesses and assisting with the installation and testing of software and security updates. You will also assist in the production of information security best practice and work closely with the service management team to ensure consistent reporting and feedback of security related incidents and problems. You will have a good understanding of SIEM and/or EDR solutions,  with knowledge of Windows/Linux administration and the vulnerability management process.

Your background will include a proven track record of contributing to security focused projects and of administering a range of desktop and server operating systems. You will have experiences of Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) for responding to malware incidents and of methods to secure account authentication and authentication.

As the successful candidate, you will have a degree/professional qualification or equivalent relevant experience, ideally with an industry recognised IT Security certification.
