Deputy Director of Alumni Engagement
About the role
We’re looking for a Deputy Director of Alumni Engagement to help lead a recently transformed team, united by a strong sense of purpose and momentum. You'll have real autonomy here: guiding how our alumni experience keeps evolving, how technology and insight sharpen it, and how a sense of belonging holds together across a truly global community. As a member of the DARO Senior Leadership Team, you’ll shape how the whole office — fundraising, alumni engagement and operations — works together.
About you
- Experience of designing and delivering strategies that increase participation and strengthen life-long connection.
- Experience of leading volunteer, ambassador or stakeholder engagement programmes with openness, curiosity and a readiness to explore new perspectives.
- An evidence-based approach to improving engagement outcomes, using data and insight to guide decisions.
- Experience of reaching across boundaries to exchange ideas and build effective partnerships.
- Experience of inspiring colleagues to create a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
These are skills built in many careers — membership, community engagement, customer experience, charities and beyond. What matters most is your ability to shape strategy, build partnerships, and help people connect, contribute and champion a shared mission.

- Generous holiday entitlement of 30 days (or pro rata) plus standard bank holidays and five university closure days including closure between Christmas and New Year.
