The Faculty of Arts is looking for an organised and enthusiastic person to fill a part-time, (21.75 hours) fixed-term maternity cover position. The role is within our Faculty Education and Student Experience team as an Education and Student Experience Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership and management role. Our team is friendly, inclusive, and welcoming; we welcome applications from everyone and value the varied perspectives and experiences that a diverse team can bring.

You will provide leadership and management to ensure successful delivery of the education and student experience elements of the Faculty’s Strategic Plan. Collaborating with senior academic staff in the School and Faculty, the role holder will contribute to Education and Student Experience strategy and operation planning. You will monitor, review and develop School and Faculty processes to continually improve the service provided to both students and staff. You will ensure communication and relationship management with key members of the University, in particular, liaison with students, academics and Registry and Academic Affairs. You will co-manage an ESE sub-team in one of our academic Schools, leading, supervising, and motivating staff.

You will be of graduate calibre (either with a degree or with an equivalent level of experience gained in the work environment) and have proven experience in a relevant role. You will be experienced in managing a team and its operations, working with, and influencing senior colleagues and other stakeholders, and able to demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement practices. You will have experience in the Higher Education sector. In addition to this you will have excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and planning skills; the ability to define and distil priorities, think independently, and find resolutions.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a team which has won a Lord Dearing Award for excellent support provided to students; and to contribute to a priority area within the Faculty of Arts. We are committed to supporting the well-being of our staff to help them reach their full potential. As a university employee, you will work in a beautiful location, have access to a range of benefits and rewards, including leading fitness and health facilities, staff discounts and travel schemes, along with a generous holiday allowance and pension scheme.

This is a part-time (21.75 hours per week) fixed-term position available for 9 months.

Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.

Informal enquiries may be addressed to Helen Waters-Marsh, email Helen.Waters-Marsh@nottingham.ac.uk. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
