Transitional/Assistant/Associate Professor in Computer Vision

We are looking to recruit a Transitional/Assistant/Associate Professor to the School of Computer Science to further enhance our successful and growing department.

This role will be held in the Computer Vision Lab (CVL). CVL develops computer vision approaches in a number of domains, including but not limited to: plant phenotyping, biological imaging and image analysis for healthcare. The role holder could contribute to, or expand, one of these existing areas, or develop a new domain expertise. We are interested in recruiting for both foundational and applied computer vision academics.

As a Transitional Assistant Professor, you will be a promising early career researcher with the potential to develop a national reputation in computer vision and will have the opportunity to make an impact on the research and teaching of the discipline. You will initially focus on research with a reduced and managed teaching responsibility, being supported to develop in all aspects of the Assistant Professor role.

As an Associate Professor, you will have a substantial and growing national and international reputation and will make a significant impact on research and teaching.

You will undertake research, individually and collaboratively, that complements the existing interests and activities within the Department. You will seek and secure funding through the development of your own research proposals and be active in research and knowledge exchange projects both internally and externally. You will take an active role in supervising doctoral researchers and will take responsibility for leading new research and other initiatives linked to your area of expertise.

You will have the ability to deliver a high standard of teaching through a variety of methods to support the School's teaching requirements, within your area of expertise. You will also be responsible for the development of content and structure of existing and new modules as part of the overall curriculum, with the potential to contribute toward delivery at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

This is a permanent position. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours); however, applications are welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 18.25 hours).
