We are recruiting an academic Teaching Associate (Level 4) to the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Nottingham to focus on the development and delivery of teaching and learning across our undergraduate degree programmes.

Do you have innovative teaching and learning ideas that fit with our School’s vision for the future and will help to drive change? Can you teach students in the School of Physics and Astronomy in a way that inspires them and equips them for their future careers?  Do you have a commitment to creating a vibrant, collegiate and dynamic learning environment? If so, we would love to hear from you!

Our goal at Nottingham is not just to recruit based on past achievements, but also on the potential someone shows for the future and we want to draw on the widest possible range of talents and backgrounds. We are looking for a physicist who can work collaboratively with other members of the School and University community to develop and deliver teaching practices that engage and support our students throughout their time in the School. Working within a team to shape the teaching curriculum and learning environment, the successful candidate will be committed to the pastoral care and well-being of our students and to engaging with the wider community, for example through outreach activities.

We believe that a diverse and supportive environment, bringing different perspectives to our work and allowing people to blossom is the best platform for excellent teaching and research. We are looking for a physicist who is excited to embrace our approach and can contribute to our efforts to enhance the scientific, teaching and cultural aspects of our School. We promote a healthy work-life balance (for example, by implementing flexible or part-time working) in an atmosphere in which staff are able to be themselves (for example, being openly LGBTQ+ or feeling confident to declare a disability within the School).

This role is available on a permanent basis. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours). Job share arrangements may be considered.
