Mental Health Advisor
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced registered mental health professional with a passion for working with students.
In the role, you will deliver student-centred, recovery focussed mental health interventions to students impacted by significant mental health difficulties. In this role, you will support students through 1:1 appointments, group work and workshops. High levels of interpersonal and communication skills will be key to the role and you will act as an interface between statutory services and the wider university to ensure the needs of students are being met.
The successful candidate with have significant experience of working in Secondary Mental Health Services and be skilled in case and risk management with individuals experiencing significant mental health difficulties.
The Mental Health Advisory Service sits within the wider wellbeing service and the role will work positively with other colleagues in the service in a collegiate way making good teamworking skills essential to this role.
You will be predominantly based at the Cripps Health Centre located on University Park but may be asked to work at other locations on University Park and our other Nottingham campuses.
You will be a fully trained and registered mental health professional (Mental Health Social Worker, Community Psychiatric Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Clinical Psychologist). A good understanding of issues which impact on student wellbeing and the ability to demonstrate a commitment to inclusive practice are essential.

This role’s core hours are 09.00-17.15 with some evening work occasional weekend required.
Flexible working arrangements will be considered in line with the University of Nottingham’s Flexible Working Arrangements Policy. Staff in the wellbeing service are required to work on site for a minimum of 80% of their working week.
The post is offered on a permanent contract. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week); job share arrangements may be considered. Please specify in your application if you wish to work part time and the number of preferred hours.
