Working across all University sites the successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of security officers, gatehouse security officers and control room staff allocating resources to ensure University sites are covered at all times. You will work with and support the Security Services Manager to deliver all aspects of the production and delivery of the university card and car parking scheme and will be the contact point for police and other key stakeholders engaging in meetings as required. As part of the security management team you will encourage the development of innovative solutions that positively impact on the customer experience and will support the Security team by carrying out appraisal conversations identifying areas for training and development.
Other duties will also include attending incidents, submitting reports, reviewing, amending and monitoring crime prevention and reduction measures and working with the team to deliver car parking and traffic management events and initiatives. You will also be responsible for building a “Key lock” suite, training staff in the process and providing advice as required.
Candidates should have a proven track record of extensive relevant work experience demonstrating practical and theoretical knowledge in a Security, customer service or car parking / traffic management environment and have experience of leading, motivating, engaging, recognising, empowering and communicating effectively with large complex teams over multiple campuses. Due to the nature of the role and the amount of travelling between university sites it is essential that candidates hold a full, current driving licence.

This position is offered on a permanent basis. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 per week), worked 5 days out of 7 to be arranged. Flexibility will be required. Job share arrangements may be considered.
