The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) is seeking to appoint a Co-ordinator in the hearing theme. The post will be based at Ropewalk House in Nottingham City Centre.
The BRC hearing theme benefits from high-quality purpose-designed testing facilities and established research links across the University of Nottingham, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and is part of the wider Academic Unit in Mental Health and Clinical Neurosciences within the School of Medicine.
This role provides an exciting opportunity to co-ordinate the administration of an area within a flagship research centre. The role holder will undertake the key tasks of co-ordinating all aspects of the day-to-day administration, monitoring of spend against budget, purchasing, booking travel and conferences, resolution of queries and supporting the organization of events. The role will include liaison with students, professional services, academic colleagues and other stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be an integral part of the wider administrative team within the Academic Unit and as such will be a team player. Externally and in the wider School, the role-holder is expected to liaise with central support services, academic staff and the NHS in order to fulfil the role.
Candidates must have a good standard of education evidenced by an HNC/HND, or equivalent or substantial work experience in further or higher education. Candidates must also have excellent IT skills including advanced use of Microsoft Office packages, particular Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and a good working knowledge of SharePoint and Teams. Demonstrable experience of working independently to resolve complex internal and external queries and to provide and maintain a high level of customer service whilst working to deadlines is essential. Knowledge, awareness, understanding and application of University procedures and relevant legislation in areas including finance, Human Resources, procurement, Health & Safety is also essential. Experience of Agresso and other University systems would be a distinct advantage.
This is a permanent post with underlying funding to 30th November 2027. Hours of work are part time, 29 hours per week.
