Applications are invited for the above post based in the University’s Research and Innovation (R&I) Department at the Jubilee Campus, Nottingham. The University of Nottingham is a research-driven institution with a leading international profile. R&I Research Operations provide support, advice and guidance to the University’s research community. It also facilitates interaction between academics, research sponsors, and with business, regional and wider communities.
This post is based within a busy, diverse and vibrant research focused Pre-Award team. The purpose of the role is to work with colleagues across Research and Innovation and within Schools and Faculties to facilitate Pre-Award activities by providing an efficient and supportive service to the University research community including Schools/Faculties research staff, and by supporting the efficient flow of bid submission to funders and award set up of research projects.
The key function of the post is to provide an underpinning operational contribution to the research activities of Research & Innovation Pre-Award, specifically in a Faculty facing supervisory role. This is a critical role facilitating the effective administration of Research projects from research costing development of applications through to successful awards and the set-up of new research projects on behalf of the University of Nottingham. The holder provides specialist, expert advice and guidance over a range of areas and is responsible for ensuring that a high level of service is provided in a customer-focused department. The holder must be flexible in their approach and be prepared to act decisively, often under pressure and tight deadlines.
This role is available on a permanent basis. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours). Job share arrangements may be considered.
