Salary:  £33,966 to £45,585 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

The Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering is seeking a Teaching Associate to provide a best in class learning experience and help develop and inspire the next generation of engineers. 

Currently ranked 3rd in the UK for Chemical and Environmental Engineering, you will be joining a highly multidisciplinary environment where collaboration between Faculty staff, students and external colleagues is key to the successful delivery of our curriculum. 

This exciting opportunity is offered as a teaching and learning focused post where you will be responsible for the planning, design, development and delivery of a number of key areas within our undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes. 

You will be passionate about providing world-class teaching and learning for our students and have the know-how to engage and support them using creative and innovative approaches. This includes the practical, hands-on experience to be able to deliver and supervise teaching and learning activities in a CEE laboratory environment.

Above all, this role is about collaboration. 

We are looking for someone who is self-starting but who also values and prioritises building and developing good working relationships at the heart of everything they do. 

You will need to work proactively with colleagues, Directors of Education and Student Experience, and a wider educational team to design, develop and deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences and you will be a clear and confident communicator with the ability to engage and inspire students and colleagues across the Faculty. 

You will be educated to degree level in a chemical or environmental engineering or a closely related discipline and have the ability to provide engineering context to your teaching. 

The post is offered on a full-time (36.25 hours per week), fixed-term contract for 1 year. Arrangements for job share may be considered.
