Location:  University Park
Salary:  £38,592 to £53,353 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Nottingham is undergoing an ambitious expansion to post graduate taught (PGT) programmes, while maintaining its focus on enhancement of the student experience. We are looking to appoint an Assistant Professor with a background and experience in one or more of the following disciplines Architecture and the Built Environment and/or Civil Engineering as well as a passion for postgraduate teaching. This is a newly created role and you will spend approximately 60% of your time on international recruitment and admissions (with a significant amount of international travel being part of this) and 40% on teaching and departmental activities.

Your role will involve working with Director of Admissions to lead recruitment on to our PGT MSc programmes in the department. You will engage internationally to recruit postgraduate students through our growing international network.

You will be responsible for improving our students' learning and cultural experiences, as well as developing cohort identity and cohesion across our engineering postgraduate taught programs. You will be part of a larger faculty Post Graduate Experience team representing five departments, where you will share knowledge and develop initiatives to improve the student experience. You will teach the PGT student cohort within the Departments of Architecture and Built Environment and Civil Engineering dependent in line with your discipline specific expertise. This will include the supervision of individual projects, where research experience in an industrial or academic setting would be an advantage. You will use your knowledge and experience to deliver teaching that delivers a best in class learning experience to develop and inspire the next generation of engineering professionals. You will contribute to administration within the Department and Faculty and assist in marketing activities to raise course profiles.
