            <p id="isPasted"><strong>INTERNAL VACANCY</strong></p><p><strong>This vacancy is open to employees of the University of Nottingham only.</strong></p><p id="isPasted">Applications are invited for the above post based in the University of Nottingham Research &amp; Innovation (R&amp;I) department, Nottingham as maternity leave cover for a fixed term of up to 1 year. It also facilitates interaction between academics, research sponsors, and with business, regional and wider communities.</p><p>The post holder will work as part of a busy team providing effective and efficient research support for externally funded research through the delivery of high quality post award management services across the University.&nbsp;</p><p>The role holder will operate as an Assistant Research Finance Manager, working closely with other professional service teams and school/faculty research administrative support as well as directly with academics and other stakeholders, to ensure robust and effective financial management of our research and research related portfolio including margin postings and identifying research provisions.&nbsp;The post sits within the R&amp;I Post Award team, within Research Operations, part of Research &amp; Innovation.</p><p>The successful candidate should have membership of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) or have a highly relevant degree and either research admin experience demonstrating adhering to terms and conditions relating to external funders or other broad financial experience or experience of following regulations that could be relevant.</p><p>You will act as the line manager of first resort to supervise, train and develop and resolve conflict in a positive way across a small team of Post Award Research Co-ordinators. This will include problem solving and the provision of technical advice and general guidance in connection with externally-funded research. You will demonstrate the ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure, and play an active, supportive and flexible role within the team.&nbsp;</p><p>You will perform a quality assurance role for funder submissions across the team demonstrating a risk based approach. &nbsp;You will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels across a wide range of stakeholders. &nbsp;You will demonstrate a high level of numeracy and proven ability to manipulate complex data with ease using spreadsheets and databases.&nbsp;</p><p>What we offer-&nbsp;</p><ul type="disc"><li>A friendly, diverse, and supportive working environment</li><li>A hybrid working arrangement with the blended approach of home and office working each week</li><li>Generous holiday entitlement of 27 days (or pro rata) plus standard bank holidays and five university closure days including closure between Christmas and New Year.</li><li>We are committed to staff development through the provision of training, continued support, and career progression opportunities</li><li>You will have access to a range of benefits and rewards, including fitness and health facilities, staff discounts, travel schemes and many more.
