            <p id="isPasted"><strong>INTERNAL VACANCY</strong></p><p><strong>This vacancy is open to employees of the University of Nottingham only.</strong></p><p id="isPasted">The University of Nottingham is seeking a motivated, experienced and proactive Health &amp; Safety Advisor to drive the continuous improvement of Health &amp; Safety across all areas of the University.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>The role will see you:&nbsp;</strong></p><p>&bull;<span style="white-space:pre;">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Provide competent, practical and pragmatic Health &amp; Safety advice and support</p><p>&bull;<span style="white-space:pre;">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Undertake inspections, audits and reviews of Business Units and departments to ensure compliance with legislation and UoN policy</p><p>&bull;<span style="white-space:pre;">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Produce comprehensive reports and action plans to improve the overall safety of the university.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull;<span style="white-space:pre;">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Build and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders around the university, with an aim to create a collaborative and team-based approach to health and safety.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull;<span style="white-space:pre;">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Advice on safety matters in multidisciplinary and complex working environments, such as laboratories, workshops, working with animals and grounds work.</p><p>&bull;<span style="white-space:pre;">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Develop, review and update compliance standards and guidance in line with the needs of the Health &amp; Safety department and the University</p><p>&bull;<span style="white-space:pre;">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Lead and support significant incident investigations, in conjunction with other members of the health and safety department and stakeholders around the university.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull;<span style="white-space:pre;">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>To support the Health and Safety team with developing training and communications, as needed.</p><p><strong>What you bring to the role:&nbsp;</strong></p><p>&bull;<span style="white-space:pre;">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels.</p><p>&bull;<span style="white-space:pre;">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Experience of auditing and inspecting</p><p>&bull;<span style="white-space:pre;">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Excellent IT skills</p><p>&bull;<span style="white-space:pre;">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Proven track record of implementing Health &amp; Safety legislation and fostering best practices</p><p>&bull;<span style="white-space:pre;">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent) or working towards or willingness to undertake.
