            <p>The Estates and Facilities Department at the University of Nottingham provides strategic and operational services support to the University infrastructure, buildings, and landholdings. We are a large and diverse department employing approximately 1300 people and provide a wide range of services across our U.K sites.</p><p>We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Operations Manager to manage the day to day planned and reactive maintenance of key maintenance services across our University Sites.</p><p>Working closely with the Head of Maintenance you will lead and manage the maintenance team allocating resources effectively to ensure works are completed in line with service level agreements and within the allocated budget. You will provide reports to Senior Estates Managers identifying areas for efficiencies and improvements and will develop the maintenance team promoting a &lsquo;can-do&rsquo; attitude and positive culture within the section. You will also liaise with and provide specialist advice to customers and internal and external stakeholders building effective working relationships, understanding customer requirements, and ensuring any feedback received is monitored and actioned as required.</p><p>Candidates should have a Trade based qualification such as City and guilds Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject and have continued post qualification training with experience in a similar role or have a proven track record of relevant work experience in a similar role demonstrating practical and theoretical knowledge of a specialised field of work. &nbsp; You should also have experience in leading, motivating and supervising a team of multi-skilled trades staff undertaking maintenance activities in a large multi-site organisation. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours per week) 5 days out of 7 to be arranged mainly Monday to Friday with flexibility to work occasional weekends if required.             <p id="isPasted">Working across all University sites, main duties for the role will include; patrolling University grounds and properties using University vehicles and on foot, responding to incidents and alarms and implementing crime prevention measures in consultation with the Security management team. You will be required to work in the Security control room operating CCTV equipment, provide detailed, accurate written reports and carry out duties in accordance with the Universities traffic control regulations to control car parking and traffic flow.</p><p>Candidates should have substantial experience of working in a similar customer facing role, have the ability to record and analyse information and be able to produce accurate written reports. Candidates should also have excellent communication skills and have the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. Due to the frequency with which candidates will be required to drive between university sites a full UK Category B driving licence with no automatic-only restriction (code 78) is essential for this post. Candidates must be able to drive manual cars and small vans.
