Join a unique British University in China.  The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) was the first Sino-foreign university to open its doors in China. This award-winning campus offering a UK style education has grown to establish a student body of over 8,000 in just 18 years.

A pioneer in Sino-foreign tertiary education, UNNC is rapidly expanding as part of the University of Nottingham’s Global University. The institution seeks ambitious, talented academics with a flair for research and a passion for teaching to join its team of experts, offering unique teaching and research opportunities in a highly dynamic economy.

The School of International Communications is the largest school in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and now has an exciting opening for a skilled researcher to play a key role in helping to develop the next phase of our Digital Heritage Centre. Our School has recently advanced its centre's facilities and we seek to further develop these facilities. The candidate will therefore be a central stakeholder in supporting the Centre in its long-term strategy of establishing itself as a national interdisciplinary hub that spans the Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Sciences and Engineering.

The ideal candidate possesses a PhD in a relevant subject area and has experience with 3D scanning, modeling, printing and related software (e.g. Artec Studio 16, Reality Capture, Geomagic Wrap). They will evidence technical expertise in the operation of equipment and software and will be in charge of managing the 3D Scanner, 3D printing, the server and the website of the Centre.

The role requires the candidate to coordinate projects and collaboration with museums. There will also be an exciting opportunity for the candidate to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students’ projects, fieldwork and placements, as appropriate. To participate in the assessment of student knowledge and co-supervise projects at Masters level.

It is essential that the candidate is a team player and embraces a can-do attitude, as they will be working closely with colleagues on projects, as well as helping to sustain and foster new relationships both locally and nationally. Our school has formed an exciting partnership with Ningbo Museum. As part of personal development, the post-holder will be given access to the school’s equipment for the creation of their digital products.

Salary will be within the range of RMB257,744 to RMB328,953 per annum depending on skills and experience. The post will be offered on a fixed term contract with the University of Nottingham Ningbo China for a period of 2 years starting October 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter.
